OUR STORY
Bayport Concessions, LLC was founded in 2000 in the San Francisco Bay Area by two long-time local restauranteurs with decades' worth of experience in fine dining, quick-service, and fast casual restaurants with a goal to bring quality dining experiences to the airport traveler. It is Bayport's goal to bring a mix of local, regional, and national brands to the airport marketplace, aligning with our goal of providing the traveler the best possible start to their travels.
JOSE F. PLACENCIA – Jose Placencia is a Managing Partner of Bayport Concessions, LLC and is responsible for the overall management of the day-to-day operations of all company enterprises. He is intimately involved in all aspects of running Bayport’s food and beverage facilities. Mr. Placencia has over 40 years of direct working experience in the food and beverage industry. He has worked in all areas of the industry from busboy to cook to manager to owner.
Mr. Placencia has owned and managed successful concessions, both merchandise and food and beverage, in an airport environment since 1989. Most recently, Bayport Concessions was awarded leases to operate several food and beverage concessions at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) including a full-service casual dining bar, two quick-service pizza/burger concepts, and a high-end wine store (Wine Wisdom) offering unique California boutique wines. In addition to his SFO experience, Mr. Placencia has developed and operated the Señor Jalapeño Taqueria concept in San Jose.
Mr. Placencia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from San Jose State University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Santa Clara University. He also has had an extensive career as a restaurant and management consultant on a national level and is a published author of various business development resources.
MIGUEL D. ROMERO - Miguel Romero is a Managing Partner of Bayport Concessions, LLC. As such, he is responsible for the overall management of the day-to-day operations of all the company enterprises. From the inception of Bayport, he has been a hands-on manager of all company operations. He has worked in the food and beverage industry since he was 16 years old, giving him over 40 years in the business. He is currently an owner/manager of several airport businesses.
In addition to the airport businesses, Mr. Romero owned and managed a successful catering business, which was showcased at food festivals throughout the state of California. He opened this business while working in one of San Jose’s premier restaurants. He has been the recipient of multiple awards for various products served by this business.
While maintaining the catering/festival business, Mr. Romero branched out into the restaurant business as a founding partner of Willow Street Wood-Fired Pizza in the Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose. He developed the original menu and recipes, many of which are still in use. The restaurant is now in three separate locations in Santa Clara County.
BIANCA A. WILCZOCH - Managing partner Bianca Wilczoch brings an attentive approach to business development, having spent over 20 years in operations at multiple restaurant sites. Ms. Wilczoch also serves as a business operations consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Ms. Wilczoch holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Santa Clara University in Political Science with additional graduate business coursework from the University of California Los Angeles and Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
